A trip by mountain bike is one of the best ways to know the countryside of Ecuador. From Riobamba you can make a variety of cycle tours in the beautiful Chimborazo province. For example a downhill trip from the snow-capped Chimborazo mountain. Or a 2-day trip to the remote highlands of the Atillo Lakes area.
For these and other bike trips we provide lightweight mountain bikes of the best quality (Trek, Cannondale, Specialized, Klein, GT) and all the necessary equipment: helmets, gloves, and knee and elbow pads. Specialized biking guides and a 4-wheel drive vehicle are available for support during the trip.

Chimborazo downhill (1 day)
This trip starts in Riobamba with transportation by 4-wheel drive to the parking place of Chimborazo, at 4800 m. altitude. At this point, in many cases covered with some snow, you start the spectacular downhill ride. On the way down you will have amazing views of this snow-covered mountain and observe grazing llamas on its slopes. Return to Riobamba in the afternoon.

Atillo Lakes (2 or 3 days)
From Riobamba we cycle south on small country-roads, enjoying the lovely scenery and passing indigenous villages. In the late afternoon we arrive at the community of Atillo, named after some of the most beautiful high lakes of Ecuador. The local people here still live in chozas (thatched huts) and you will sleep in this kind of shelter. The area of Atillo is far from the tourist route but not less interesting. If you decide to stay a day in Atillo, you can make a hike in the mountains to a viewpoint from where you can see Sangay, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Also you can make a horseback riding trip or go fishing for trout.
