Pastaza Jungle Trek
On these short jungle treks you will learn all about the unique ecosystem of the Amazon rainforest.  Hiking in the jungle we will see medicinal plants and trees,  exotical flowers, and colourful butterflies and birds. By dugout canoe we go down a river with rapids, and we swim under waterfalls. We also will learn about the culture of the indigenous inhabitants of the forest.

Image From the town of Puyo we leave at 8:00 a.m. by pick-up. After 1 hour we arrive at the entrance of a rainforest reserve. Here we leave our backpacks and we walk for 2 hours in the rainforest. During the hike the guide tells us about different plants and trees, and we can see butterflies and birds. After a swim under a waterfall we return following a different trail. We visit an indigenous family to see how they make the ceramics that are used for the traditional chicha-drink. Then we go by dugout canoe for 30 minutes on the rapids of the Puyo River.
