Day 1  We leave Riobamba at 8:30 a.m. and drive for 3 ½ hours to the base camp of Iliniza, at 4000 m. / 13.124 ft. Here we pitch our tents and spent the night.

Day 2   At  4:00 a.m. we leave the camp. The climb to the summit takes 4 to 5 hours. After the descent we have lunch in a restaurant and then drive back to Riobamba. Arrive at about 4:00 p.m.

DIFFICULTY: moderate; a basic acclimatization is recommended

- mountain guide (1 guide climbs with maximum 2 persons
- transportation from / to Riobamba
- accommodation in refuge
- meals (2 box lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, 1 meal in restaurant) and purified drinking water
